Kelly Sue, upon hearing me explain that I’m battling the urge to fuck around and not get work done, offered yesterday to occasionally text and tell me to get to work, to which I jokingly agreed because clearly she was joking.
Or not.

Best part: I just received the following Tumblr mail (leaving the woman’s name off because I haven’t gotten her permission to post, but I’ll add it if she responds that it’s okay) —

Hi! I saw your post about telling people to get shit done. There’s a website called Remind101 where you can send texts to folks who subscribe.. So, if you were to sign up and tell us to get stuff done, itwould be awesome.

So… if I’m reading this right, there is a service whereby I can NAG any masochist who signs up.  SHOTGUN BLAST NAGGING.
This might have to happen.
(Thinking this through — what a great tool. I can think of all sorts of uses—deadline  reminders for creator-owned books, con schedules (!!!)… Oh my god, Con Schedules!  Good stuff.
Site TOS makes it clear it’s intended for teachers, but I can’t find anything that says you HAVE to be a teacher.  Hm…)
Okay, let’s try this.  You want me to nag you randomly?  You’re now taking a class called “Bitches Get Shit Done.”
To sign up, text @bitchesg to (971) 244-8342.

GAH. IT IS SO BEAUTIFUL.

First of all, the cover model is stunning. And her ring! And her dress! And the teacup with the birds! And the tagline!!

This book was a tall order…

Demonstrating the importance of perspective (and varying POVs) in the same story. Love it.

This is how Sarah J. Maas and I do FROZEN.

Yep. If we ever killed someone, the conversation would go exactly like this.

"Gulabi Gang" is a gang of women in India who track down and beat abusive husbands with brooms.

this is too thug not to reblog

That’s not all they do - they’ve got more information on their website.
What else they do that is awesome:
Stop child marriages
Persuade families to educate girl-child
Train women in self-defense
Oppose corruption in administration
Create awareness about the evils of dowry
Register FIRs against sex-offenders and abusive husbands
Publicly shame molesters
Encourage women to become financially independent

Writing does not require pants.
This, in fact, explains the underlying and not-very-hidden secret to my motivation to remain a working author.

And my desire to BE a working author! Hahaha
